2. Banners in

Fujinomiya city

from “Pass the Baton!” An artist residency with Run Tomo

Run Tomo is an intergenerational relay race across Japan. People living with dementia are brought to the heart of their communities and invited to walk or run across sections of their towns and villages, wearing orange and holding a selection of banners and flags. In 2019 Ellie completed her artist residency “Pass the Baton!” with Run Tomo, inviting the runners to document their shared experiences. Here the book captures the banners in Fujinomiya city.
